Web 3.0 is quickly evolving and working its way into society’s constantly connected lives, with non-fungible tokens and crypto erupting as star players of the decentralized version of the internet, taking advantage of public blockchain technology and the emerging metaverse.

These technologies took the stage at Monaco Crypto Summit, projecting a future full of crypto, blockchain-based technologies and more.

“Cointelegraph research recently released a report showing that web three is the most sought-after investment sector this year,” said Rachel Wolfson (pictured), senior reporter at Cointelegraph.  “That’s exactly what we’re seeing and the vibe I’m getting from the Monaco Crypto Summit here today. This is all about Web3. It’s all about NFT. It’s all about the metaverse.”

Wolfson spoke with theCUBE industry analyst John Furrier at Monaco Crypto Summit, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed the biggest emerging trends in crypto, the future of crypto and Web 3.0, the metaverse and more. (* Disclosure below.)

World Wide Web 3.0

Since 2017, the crypto world has changed significantly. With public blockchains being used by enterprises and more and more centralized exchanges, cryptocurrencies have made significant headway in earning a place in financial history.

“The space is undergoing a lot of transformation,” Wolfson said. “It’s revolutionary to see the hardware wallet market is growing rapidly. And I think that that’s going to continue to grow.”

With crypto news and innovations propping up daily, it’s hard to know what’s important to focus on. When Furrier asked Wolfson what the most important story from the Summit was, she cited overall  innovation.

“People need to focus less on the price of bitcoin and Ethereum and more on innovation that’s happening,” Wolfson said. “For instance, Web 3.0 innovation; what we’re seeing here today, this isn’t about prices, but it’s more about how now is the time to build because the prices are a bit down.”
